ACT Abroad: Exchange Programs for ACT Students

By

ACT has a selection of exchange opportunities for degree seeking students, providing the opportunity to study abroad for up to one academic year. Exchange partners are located around the world at accredited institutions. The Exchange program allows you to explore new places, meet new people, gain new perspectives and make many memories. The exchange places are limited and competitive. Having a good GPA and planning early will help you make it to your top destination.

How to Apply

  1. Book an appointment with the International Programs Office (IPO), SC Hall 205, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., to talk about the Exchange opportunities that are currently available.
  2. Submit the following to the IPO at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

> A personal statement of interest (up to 1 page) describing your interest in studying abroad and what you want to get out of it.
> Official transcript from the ACT Registrar's Office
> A letter of recommendation from a professor (sent directly by your professor to the IPO)

  1. If you qualify for the exchange program, the IPO will then nominate you to one of our partner schools.
  2. If you are accepted by the partner school, the IPO will then help guide you through the enrollment process for your selected destination.

Additional Information

A GPA of 2.5 is required, and is the minimum GPA for many destinations. Students with a GPA under 2.5 will be considered on an individual basis.

Application materials vary for each particular host school. The IPO Coordinator will help guide you, but it is the responsibility of the applicant to adhere to all deadlines and submit all necessary information thoroughly and on time.

Visas may be required for study abroad.

Costs vary by destination. The exchange program allows students to keep their tuition rate and academic scholarships. Students are responsible for the cost of visas, travel, insurance, housing, meals, books, personal items, and any other expenses that are not clearly covered by the exchange.
