Martin Nachev '10, BSc in Management and Marketing

Martin Nachev graduated from ACT in 2010 with an BSc in Management and Marketing and immediately pursued a Master’s in International Business at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Upon graduating with distinction in 2011, he began his career as a Forex technology support engineer — a role that marked the beginning of his journey in the tech industry. Over the next 14 years, he evolved into a Technology Director, responsible for service delivery to large multinational clients and leading multiple teams of skilled engineers.

The best memory I have of ACT…

The lunch breaks at the cafeteria were fabulous! I really enjoyed the coffee in the shade during the hot months.

My favorite professor was…

Mr. Vezerides, absolute favorite! That said, Mr. Grammenos is a close second.

My favorite spot on campus…

the library. Not that I love reading so much – it was just an excellent place to be in, overall. It’s an inviting, open space where one could really focus.

ACT helped me to…

get my life started, really! There were a few modules that resonated very well with my abilities, and I was able to see what I’m truly good at and enjoy at the same time.

The elements that characterize the identity of ACT graduates are…

curiosity, resilience, empathy.

For me ACT is…

arguably the most productive and, at the same time, enjoyable experience in my life.

The best part of my job is…

 that no two days are ever the same. I hate repetition and predictability.

I consider this an important moment in my professional journey…

I wouldn’t necessarily focus on a specific moment, but on the process that leads to understanding or realization. For me, it was a module I took during my Master’s studies, called Web Technologies, which showed me the importance of data in business—long before Big Data and AI. That’s when I decided to pursue a career in IT management.
