Empowering Global Education: Gerondelis Foundation Supports Gordon College Students at ACT

The American College of Thessaloniki (ACT) has been awarded a generous grant of $50,000 from the Gerondelis Foundation to support undergraduate students from Gordon College, MA, for a summer study abroad experience in 2025. Dr. Maria Kyriakidou and Dr. Christos Aliprantis from the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences at ACT have identified the opportunity and worked on the Gerondelis application for nonprofit grants; seven Gordon College students have been awarded the scholarship through the processes of their Global Education Program. These students can now enroll in summer term humanities courses, engaging deeply with Thessaloniki's historical, archaeological, and cultural richness. The Gerondelis Foundation, which supports initiatives connected to Greek heritage and the communities of Lynn and Saugus, has made this immersive educational opportunity possible.
