"Funding your Idea": A Dynamic Workshop on Financial Tools and Practices

The Entrepreneurship Hub at ACT organized a dynamic workshop for young entrepreneurs on 29 January 2025 at the Bissell Library. 

More than 60 young entrepreneurs from the startup ecosystem who had benefitted from the ACT Entrepreneurship Hub programs (VentureGarden, "John Pappajohn" Business Plan Award, etc.) attended the workshop. The event presented in detail and depth the optimal financial tools and practices that apply in Greece and internationally for new businesses and startups. 

The participants had the opportunity to meet for the first time with representatives of the Venture Capitals focused in Thessaloniki and Northern Greece and have an in-depth discussion on Greece's business and investment environment.

Nikolaos Takas, CEO of Thermi Venture Capital, Sotiris Siagas, CEO of TECS Capital, and Evangelos Kosmidis, CEO of Loggerhead Ventures, represented the three VCs. Dr. Nikolas Hourvouliades, Director of the ACT Entrepreneurship Hub, moderated the discussion. 

The three speakers shared valuable experiences and knowledge about the Greek and international markets with the participants, offering valuable insights while empowering entrepreneurs who operate in the startup ecosystem. The success of this event lays the groundwork for similar meetings in the future, aiming to enhance networking and improve access to funding opportunities for startups.
