ACT faculty Dr. Christos Aliprantis, Dr. Maria Kyriakidou, and Dr. Oliver Ayers from NUL have successfully applied for a Leverhulme Trust/British Academy small research grant. The grant will last from August 2025 to August 2026 and explore the shifting influence from the UK to the USA in Civil War Greece (1946-49) and how this process manifested and impacted Thessaloniki. The project shall investigate how Great Power dynamics affected frontline regions in the emerging Cold War context through the example of Thessaloniki and Northern Greece.
