Dukakis Center hosts peace builder Kallissa Apostolidou

The Dukakis Center welcomed Kallissa Apostolidou this past Thursday, November 27, for a Dukakis Seminar Series lecture entitled "Fighting for peace: is local ownership, participatory processes and trust all you need?"

Ms Apostolidis has worked in the peace-building field for the past six years. She started out with the UN in Geneva and for the past four years has been working as Programme Officer for Interpeace, an international peace building organization. Her particular focus is on the Middle East and Cyprus.

Ms Apostolidou studied Philosophy at Smith College and obtained her Masters from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She has also worked for ELIAMEP and the European Commission, and has also interned at the Press Office of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ms Apostolidou's visit to ACT was coordinated by Adjunct Professor of International Relations Vassilis Pergantis, for the principal benefit of IR majors and students in Politics 232, "International Organizations.
