The ACT basketball varsity team played in wheel-chairs against the Greek National wheel-char basketball team on World Day for People with Special Needs and ... they were defeated! The 10-minute exhibition game took place at the PAOK basketball arena, which was filled with students from various Thessaloniki schools, children with special needs, and the players of PAOK. 
The game went very well and both teams enjoyed it very much. The athletes of the Greek National team were very glad to meet the ACT players and had much fun playing with them. The score didn't matter and that is why no one actually knows the final result! Aris Irakliou, the captain of the ACT team said that it was a very enriching experience. "At the beginning it felt weird, when we had to play in wheel-chairs, but then we got used to it and had lots of fun!" The athletes left the field with a promise to meet again. ACT invited the National wheel-chair basketball team to the ACT campus hoping that next time the ACT team will win ... |
