Throughout the year ACT offers a variety of included and optional trips to help you make the most of your time in Greece. The included trips are offered year-round and are free for all ACT Study Abroad students!
ATHENS & DELPHI: An included three-day trip to the southern mainland of Greece. Visit the new Acropolis museum, the Parthenon, the Ancient Agora and Monastiraki open air market in Athens. Also visit the ancient site of Delphi including a guided tour of the museum, and the archeological site of the ancient Oracle of Delphi.
THESSALONIKI CITY TOUR: An included city tour during orientation provides you with historical information and local tips about the city.
VERGINA: An included day trip takes you back in history while you learn about Alexander the Great during your visit of the Royal Tombs of King Philip II (father of Alexander the Great) and the Macedonian dynasty.
THESSALONIKI HARBOR BOAT RIDE: An optional evening boat ride around the harbor of Thessaloniki provides a splendid view of the city while relaxing with friends over a drink and music.
Mt. OLYMPUS: An optional weekend hiking trip to the highest Greek mountain (2918m/9574ft). The strenuous hike brings you to the ‘Muses Plateau’ just under the peak of the mountain.
CHALKIDIKI – MT. ATHOS: An optional weekend trip to explore the beautiful peninsula of Chalkidiki including free time to swim, visit Ouranopoli and enjoy a leisurely boat ride along the coast of Mt. Athos to view the famous Orthodox Monasteries, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
SAILING: An optional two or three day guided sailing trip along the western coast of mainland Greece lets you explore the picturesque peninsulas of the Halkidiki region, boasting turquoise seas and some of Greece’s best swimming areas. No sailing experience necessary.
CANYONING: An optional day trip of adventure that includes swimming, cliff jumping and rappelling off of waterfalls in a river that flows through a canyon of Mt. Olympus.
IOANNINA– METEORA: An optional overnight trip to the some of the most interesting and picturesque places in North-Western Greece: including the pre-historic Perama caves of Ioannina, and the monasteries of Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
POZAR: HOT SPRINGS: An optional day trip to the thermal hot springs of Pozar near the city of Edessa. Enjoy a relaxing time in the hot springs and then a short stop in Edessa for pictures by the magnificent waterfall of Edessa.
SANI RESORT JAZZ FESTIVAL: An optional day trip to the renowned Sani World Jazz Festival set in the spectacular open-air amphitheater at the Sani Resort.
